We believe that where the Kingdom of God is, there is community. It is more than our Sunday gathering of celebration. Community demands that there be some real sharing of life together. That we pray together, that celebrate our rites of passages together, that we celebrate some of our everyday joys, fears and feasts together, that we are responsible to each other and open to each other. That we share our resources, our time, our gifts.
To help create an opportunity for richer, life giving community we have community groups that meet weekly. For what purpose - to be together. To live, laugh, eat, pray, cry, celebrate, share, work and be together.
We currently have 3 weekly community groups....
North Westside Tuesday Evenings - 7:00 PM The Home of Ron & Phyllis Alsobrooks |
Northside Monday Evenings - 7:00 PM The Home of Randy & Amy Kitts |
Westside Wednesday Evenings - 7:00 PM The Home of Allen & Mabel Halcomb |

Each community group is unique and has it's own flavor. However, each share what we call the 3 common ingredients:
| 1. Social | 2. Serving | 3. Spiritual |
This is about hanging out, playing games, celebrating rites of passage and throwing big parties!
Never underestimate the the power of a good party! |
This is staying true to our DNA. Keeping our outward focus. Choose something that your group is passionate about.
It's about loving our neighbors. |
Exploring who God is and how that relates to us. Reading scripture aloud and asking, "What is God saying to me today?"
Spending time praying together and listening to what God is saying to your group. |
The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don't, the parts we see and the parts we don't. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance. You are Christ's body—that's who you are! You must never forget this.
1 Corinthians 12 (MSG Bible)
