Most weeks after our Sunday gathering, many of us head out for lunch....Cracker Barrel, Chilis, Fridays, whatever. (yes, we know, church people are famous for our sunday buffet cravings!)

Many of us spend $10-$15 on our meal, tax and tip. Some of us spend more than that.

That got us thinking...

- What if we came together and had a simple lunch, something basic and affordable?

- What if we put the money we would've spent eating out and put it in a big jar?

- What if we took that jar and gave it to a single mom in Knoxville with 3 kids?

- Or an elderly person in Knoxville with no food in the fridge?

We can make a huge difference for someone!

It would drastically alter their life. Imagine that. Just coming together as a community and eating a simple meal could make a drastic difference for a family right here in Knoxville.

So, every few weeks, instead of heading out to the buffet, we stick around after our Sunday Gathering to hang out and eat pizza and chips. We put the money we would've spent at the restaurant in a big glass jar and then we give it all away.

So far we have given away thousands of dollars to people who really need it.  

We eat for change...to tangibly spread a little glimpse of God's Kingdom! To make a real difference in someone's week.
